I want to understand myself
I know what I should do, but I can't seem to do it
I'm tired of carrying it by myself
I want to become a better version of myself

I don't want to wait until things get worse

Welcome. You’re in good company!

If you find yourself thinking:

How Therapy Can Help You

Therapy will not fix your problems, but it can help you…

01

Understand yourself better

02

Put feelings into words

03

Respond instead of reacting

04

Process difficult experiences rather than avoiding them

05

Learn healthier behavioral patterns

06

Become more assertive and find your voice

07

Feel understood, validated, and safe

08

Receive a different perspective on painful emotions

09

Gradually change your relationship with the past or yourself

You don’t need to be in crisis or reach the last straw to benefit from therapy.

You Don’t Have to Hit Rock Botton to Benefit from Therapy

Sometimes, you just know that something does not feel right, and you do not have to figure out what it means before reaching out for support.

You might be here because...

01.

Adoption or foster care has shaped your story in ways you're still trying to understand

  • You may be navigating questions of identity, belonging, attachment, loss, or the lasting impact of your experiences

02.

Anxiety is making it harder to feel at ease in your life

  • You may find yourself overthinking, worrying, avoiding situations, or feeling especially anxious around other people

03.

Work is taking more from you than you have to give

  • You may be struggling with career stress, burnout, boundaries, or finding a healthier balance between work and home

04.

Experiences of childhood or sexual abuse continue to affect you

  • You may be working through the impact of trauma, shame, trust, self-worth, or patterns that have followed you into adulthood

05.

College has brought challenges you didn't expect

  • You may be navigating anxiety, stress, relationships, academic pressure, identity, imposter syndrome, or the transition into adulthood

06.

Relationships or family dynamics feel difficult or complicated

  • You may be struggling with conflict, communication, boundaries, disconnection, or patterns you would like to understand and change

07.

You are in a new phase of life and not sure how to navigate it just yet

  • Whether you are facing a major transition, questioning what comes next, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can be a space to slow down and make sense of where you are

How We Will Work Together

No single approach works for everyone. I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to you, your experiences, and what you hope to change. Alongside familiar approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, I also draw on approaches that offer different ways to understand your experiences and create change.

Narrative Therapy

We will explore the stories you have developed about yourself and your life, making space to separate you from the problems you are facing and discover possibilities for a different story

Compassion-Focused Therapy

We will work toward developing a kinder relationship with yourself, especially when self-criticism, shame, or feelings of not being “good enough” have become overwhelming

Somatic Psychotherapy

We will pay attention to what happens in your body, helping you develop greater awareness of physical responses, tension, and patterns connected to stress or trauma

What You Can Expect From Our Work Together

Therapy can already feel a little mysterious, especially when you are not sure what to expect. I want you to have a sense of what our work together might look like before you walk through the door.

What happens if I don't know what to say?

That's completely okay; I can help guide the conversation and we can figure out what feels most useful to explore together

Will sessions be structured or conversational?

A little of both; the sessions can be structured when there's something specific to work on and more conversational when you need space to process

Will you mostly ask questions, or give me things to practice in between sessions?

Sessions will include questions, conversation, reflection, and practical exercises or strategies to try between sessions

How much say do I have in what we do in therapy, and can I ask you to do things differently?

This is your therapy, so you are always welcome to ask for something different, give feedback, or let me know what is or is not working for you

What if I feel frustrated or upset with you or with therapy?

I want you to tell me; we can talk about it openly and without judgment, and if something has gone wrong between us, we can work together to repair it

What does"this is a safe space"actually mean?

It means you can bring your thoughts, feelings, questions, and concerns here honestly, including things you may be worried I'll judge you for

Will you share personal information about yourself in therapy?

I generally do not self-disclose as the focus of therapy should be on the client and my responsibility is to protect the intricate nature of the therapeutic relationship; if you are curious about anything, you are always welcome to ask me and we can discuss how that information might be helpful to you or your therapy
